I bought the tractor used so no idea how old they were but they were very worn, cracked and the tube stems were leaky. Take the time to wire brush all the rust and rough spots out of the inside of the wheels when you make the swap. Once cleaned up, I put a loop of Gorilla Tape around the inside to add a "cheap insurance" layer between the tube and interior wheel rivet heads. With the new shoes on the front, we're back in business without having to babysit random tire pressure drops.
